No way as his talent would be utilized by a couple of rich families for entertainment and after he was considered finished with that he'd be put to work (hard labour). If he could not perform then he would basically starve or be sent to a farm to live and work.

There wasn't the communications or travel opportunities like today so no one outside his town/city/village would really be aware of his talent and also there were not the song writers available either so his list of songs would be limited.

Normally if not used by the rich then he would more likely be in a church or monastery where he would sing religious songs and possibly become a priest.
